Pregem are pleased to announce the release this month of our next generation intelligent GPS vehicle tracking solution fleetinsight™ fuelproof.
fleetinsight's fuelproof™ solution uses the patented Squarell contact-less CAN connection to communicate with the vehicle's engine management system and provide a powerful solution for analysing and monitoring driving styles. It delivers very accurate data on variables such as harsh driving, engine idling, accurate CO2 emissions and fuel consumption - all with no impact on the vehicle warranty.
With fuelproof, driver behaviours and choices can be monitored, and safer, more economical driving styles can then be encouraged and rewarded. The system produces valuable management KPIs including a league table of the most fuel efficient drivers.
Accurate comparisons of performance between the users different vehicles is also provided.
This is achieved via reports in which the user specifies a target for each parameter which is of interest to them. The user can also provide weightings against the elements of driving style which they consider to be more important to their unique fleet.
The reports also contain a figure for the drivers route choice efficiency. This indicates whether the driver usually takes the most efficient route available to them, or wastes fuel by using less direct routes.
All of this enables the user to produce the most accurate, complete driver comparison report available today, with an incredibly simple once only setup. Possibly the most important fact on the whole report is the ‘Wasted Fuel’ value which uses a complex algorithm to determine how much fuel could have been saved through different driver choices - allowing the user to put a direct cost against the drivers performance.
Real-Time
The key figure of MPG is displayed in the live tracking system for each journey and can be ‘rolled-up’ to a daily level. CAN generated alerts are also displayed in real-time and can instantly take you to the extra information about the incident including the birds-eye location on the map.
What kind of information is reported by fuelproof™?
A vast array of different information is collected by the engine management module. This includes distance travelled, driving and idling times, fuel consumption, speeding, harsh braking/acceleration counts and distances, and also engine over-revving, over-torquing. The use of cruise control is also monitored to ensure it is used efficiently and missed opportunities are identified.
The system has undergone successful trials within existing fleetinsight™ customer fleets and is available now.
